Welcome to the Isle of Wight DA website. We are a District Association of the Camping & Caravanning Club. We hold meets and rallies throughout the year on the Isle of Wight . Our meets are of course open to all Club members to enjoy, and our site stewards look forward to welcoming you to any of our events, should you wish to come and join us
Our website has all of the information that you need to find upcoming events. Should you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact our Rally Officer or any Committee Member, contact details can be found on the Committee page.
We look forward to seeing you.
To all the members of the Isle of Wight D A.
From your Chairman.
April 19. 2022.
First I must apologise for Ann and I being absent from the AGM, but this was due to the fact that on the Thursday prior to the AGM, Ann and I tested positive for Covid, despite having had all the jabs so far, (due to Ann’s job she has to take a test every morning 30minutes before she leaves for work), this meant we had to isolate for 10 days and then have 2 clear tests.
But I hope you all found the Lions Day Centre, OK for the meeting.
On Monday the 11th April was the clubs quarterly meeting, and the first order of business was to decide which of the committee members you had chosen at the AGM, would hold the specific positions, and it was decided that we all continue in our present posts for the next year
We then reconvened the normal meeting to deal with the business at hand.
At this moment in time some of our members are staying and working at the Club Site in Agestone, unfortunately Ann and I could not join them as our Camper is undergoing some essential repairs, but we did pop over for a visit, and spoke to Paul and the site warden, and left them some wine. beer and nibbles for their enjoyment during the evening. I thank you for helping the warden in this way; it all goes to create good relations.
The next rally organised by Paul is a weekend at Agestone Camp Site, from Friday afternoon the 20th of May until Sunday the 22nd of May. Ann and I both hope we will be able to attend, and we have booked in.
After that the next one arranged is on Friday the 24th June until Sunday the 26th June, at the Dairyman’s Daughter Site, this is special for me as it is my 80th birthday that weekend and I believe Ann is going to provide a buffet during the early evening. I also believe that the Club is borrowing a marquee for the event, so we should be OK despite the weather. Ann usually does a good spread for this type of event, but she will need to know numbers, so please book in with Paul Murch in good time
I also understand that Paul has arranged meets at the following locations and dates which are:-
15th July, the real ale train at Havenstreet.
27th July to 24th August is the THS, at the Dairyman’s Daughter Site.
4th November Bonfire do at the Dairyman’s Daughter Site.
But I am sure there may well be the odd extra event between times, and that Paul will have the full list and details on the Club Website.
That I think is all from me at this moment; let us hope that we have good weather for this years events and above all, let’s enjoy ourselves.
All the best for now, your Chairman Ron.
